Year-end special: Bollywood weddings of 2014
New Delhi: Celebrity wedding is not only about wedding vows or ‘saat phere’ but it is also about paparazzi, lavish venues, guests and dinners. Here, we bring you the biggest wedding ceremonies of the year 2014:
Sameera Reddy and Akshai Varde
This was the first Bollywood wedding of 2014. Sameera Reddy got married to Akshai Varde on January 21. The traditional Marathi wedding was attended by only close friends and family members. Presence of media was almost forbidden. The couple planned an April wedding however unexpectedly things turned favorable in January itself.
Dressed in traditional Marathi attire, Sameera looked gorgeous in the Maharashtrian saree and the nose ring. The groom Akshay also donned Marathi attire only.
Ahana Deol and Vaibhav Vora
The big fat Punjabi wedding of Dharmendra and Hema Malini’s daughter Ahana Deol with Delhi-based businessman Vaibhav Vora was attended by many Bollywood celebrities and politicians. Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Pdukone, Ranveer Singh, Rekha, Bachchan family and many others are some of the names who attended the February 2 event.
Ahana wore a beautiful red and pink lehenga with chuda, Kaliras and contemporary jewellery while the groom sported a traditional attire, Sherwani and pagdi for the wedding.
Rakshanda Khan and Sachin Tyagi
picture: wedding dresses perthThe beautiful blue-eyed actress Rakshanda Khan married her boyfriend of 6 years, Sachin Tyagi on March 14 this year. The guest list for the event consisted of several TV personalities apart from the family members.
Rakshanda gave a perfect glimpse of a modern Indian bride. With contemporary jewellery and traditional attire she looked gorgeous on her D-day while the groom dressed up in blue velvet sherwani at the nuptial.
Priyanka Vohra and Rannvijay Singh
MTV VJ and actor Ranvijay Singh married his London-based girlfriend Priyanka Vohra, in Mombasa, Kenya, on April 10, this year. Rannvijay and Priyanka had a traditional Sikh wedding. The destination wedding was attended by only the closest family members of the couple.
The bride chose a very subtle colour for her dress. She teamed it with maang-tika with a beautiful Pasha, whereas Rannvijay opted for an embellished kurta for the wedding rituals and a suit for the reception.
Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha
The wedding bells rang for gorgeous Dia Mirza also this year with her business partner turned fiancé Sahil Sangha. The RHTDM actress tied the knot on October 18 in Delhi. The ceremony was attended by family and friends only. Some of them were from Bollywood too.
Dia dressed up in a beautiful gharara designed by ace designer Ritu Kumar. The stunning diva looked beautiful as a royal bride on her d-day in a heavily embroidered emerald green gharara with beautiful gota work and golden zari work all over it. The groom also looked astonishing in his traditional attire.
