Instead of satisfying daily to-do list and overcommitting, be honest and others about what can get done in a certain time edge.
Plan ahead: Don’t just launch into day and wing it. Make a plan for what want to achieve and what success looks like for the week and the day. Set goals for day and schedule activities that help to meet that aim. Far more likely to use time wisely when intentional about how spend it.
Use a timer: Setting a timer can help stay on track. Set a short deadline, and use a timer to help target focus. This will help to get more done in a short period of time. Using a timer can also keep from spending more time on a task than essential to. Determine how long work on something, set a time target, and use the timer to keep attentive without spending more time than should on a task.
Eliminate time wasters: Don’t spend time on events that waste time. Time is valuable and it’s easy to get sucked into social media or other time-wasting events. If this is a challenge, remove apps from phone or take steps to make it harder to engage in time-wasting events. Engage in these events in a more intentional way so it doesn’t take away from activities that must get completed.
Take a break: Don’t let the insistence of an assignment or the expectations of a big project distract from the big picture. Overall well-being dramatically effect’s ability to work.
