Benefits of Narayana BaliPooja – Nagapratishta

Narayana Bali Pooja is also known as Nagapratishta. It is a ritual to appease the deity called Lord Vishnu. It is believed that Ambedkar, who was responsible for endowing the legal rights of Dalits with dignity and respect in Indian society, had performed this puja on 22nd June 1949 at his ancestral home in Water Trough village of Guntur district.

Narayana Bali Pooja is a Hindu religious and social ceremony that marks the end of Lord Narayana Yajna, an annual Hindu pilgrimage. It is celebrated on 23 April each year in Nepal.

Nagapratishta or Naga-prasadam is an offering to the deity Sri Narayana. This ritual is often performed at the end of a fast, especially on Shukla Paksha Tithi, the sixth day of Ashvin Shukla Ekadashi when scriptures say that Lord Shiva blessed Narayana with Peetaka.

In the Vedas, Nagapratishta is a powerful weapon which the gods used against Ravana. It was used to destroy his ten heads and seven necks, which resulted in him being burnt to ashes.
