Educational Qualifications

To become an IAS officer, first of all you have to pass 12th in any stream from any subject, after that you have to complete graduation, you can complete graduation from any course.

Age Limit and Exam Limit

An age limit has been fixed for each post, in which the age limit has been fixed between 21 to 32 years for the general category candidate of an IAS officer and the exam attempt limit has been kept 6 times for the general category student..

The same Sc / St category candidates get a relaxation of 5 years, they can give the exam between 21 and 37 years, but no exam attempt limit has been kept for them.

If we talk about the candidate of OBC category, then he can give the exam between 21 to 35 and if we talk about the exam attempt, then he can attempt the exam up to 9 times.

If a candidate is Physically Disabled, he belongs to any category, then the age limit has been fixed for him from 21 to 42, if he is from General or OBC category, then he can attempt the exam 9 times, the same exam for Sc / St. There is no limit.

How to become IAS?

UPSC Exam Preparation:- If you come under the above mentioned educational qualification and age limit, then you should start the exam, while preparing apply the form for the exam.

Apply for UPSC Exam:- If you have completed graduation by passing 12th from any course, then now it is your turn to pass UPSC exam, every year UPSC exam forms are filled, wait till this form is filled. As you start filling the form, you have to apply the form for UPSC exam.

Exam Methods

There are three steps to pass the UPSC exam which are conducted in the form of different exams.

  1. Preliminary Examination
  2. Main Exam
  3. Interview

Preliminary Exam: - To become an IAS officer, the first exam is called The Preliminary Exam, it is necessary to pass this exam, two papers are conducted in this exam, these are 200-200 number papers, they are multiple choice i.e. optional questions. There are four options for each question, but you have to find the correct answer and click on one of the options.

Main Exam: - As soon as you pass the preliminary exam, immediately after that you should start preparing for the main exam, this is the main exam of UPSC, it requires a lot of hard work because many people fail in this exam. In the exam, you will have to give a total of 9 exams, which are all written papers, in which you will have to write the answers to the questions in detail, this is considered to be the toughest exam.

Interview:- As soon as you clear the main exam, after that there is an interview at the last stage, in this you will be interviewed in detail, this will be a 45 minute interview, in this you can be asked anything from anywhere, your personal life, your personal life. Can also be asked about which if you pass in this interview then you will completely become an IAS Officer.
