This time 5% less voting in Gujarat

This time there is 5% less voting in Gujarat. Last time there was 69.2% voting, while this time the total voting in both the phases was 64.3%. In three out of the last five elections, BJP has lost and Congress has gained due to fall in vote percentage.

BJP rule in Gujarat since 1995

The last time election dates were announced in Gujarat on 25 October 2017. The notification for the first phase was issued on 14 November and for the second phase on 20 November. The results of the first and second phase elections were declared on 9 December and 14 December 2017.

In the Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017, voting was held for 89 seats in the first phase and 93 seats in the second phase for all 182 seats. In which BJP crossed the majority mark with 99 seats. There are a total of 68 seats in the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, where voting was held in a single phase on November 9 in 2017. In this, the BJP had won 44 seats. On the other hand, Congress got success in 21 seats, while Independents won 2 seats and CPI (Marxist) won one seat.
