What is Estrogen ELSA Kit

1. What is Estrogen

Estrogen (also called Oestrogen), refers to a

group of chemically similar hormones. The

namecomes from the Greek: estrus/oistros +

gen/gonos = to generate. It is widely known

and discussed because of its importance for

the development and functioning of females of

the species. As a matter of fact, both men and

women produce estrogen hormones, but the role

they play in men is not entirely clear, and

they are present in significantly higher

amounts in women after menarche (onset of

menstrual periods at puberty) until menopause

(cessation of menstrual periods after

completion of reproductive age).

1.Its function

Estrogen is very important for the growth and

development of female sexual characteristics a

nd the reproductive process. To understand the

roles estrogens play in women, it is necessary

to know something about hormones in general.

Hormones are vital chemical substances in

humans and animals. It is often called as

"chemical messengers," because hormones carry

information and instructions from one group

of cells to another. For human bodies,

hormones have a influence to almost every

cell, organ and function. They regulate our

growth, development, metabolism, tissue

function, sexual function, reproduction, etc.

In terms of the estrogen hormone, it’s primary

function is for developing female secondary

sexual characteristics. These includes

breasts, endometrium, regulation of the

menstrual cycle, which controls the growth

of the uterine lining during the first part

of the cycle. etc. It causes changes in the

breasts during adolescence and pregnancy and

regulates various other metabolic processes,

including bone growth and cholesterol levels.

2.Classification

Estrogen includes Estrone (E1), Estradiol (E2)

, Estriol (E3). Let’s take three estrogen tests

in a blood or urine sample to understand the

different roles the three estrogens play.

Generally, Estradiol(E3) is a common measured

type of estrogen for women not pregnant. The

amount of estradiol in a woman's blood varies

throughout her menstrual cycle. After

menopause, however, the estradiol production

drops to a very low but constant level.

Pregnant women are usually familiar with

Estriol (E2) tests, which are only measured

during pregnancy. Estriol is produced in large

amounts by the placenta, the tissue that link

s the fetus to the mother. It can be detected

as early as the 9th week of pregnancy, and its

levels increase until delivery. It can also

be measured in urine.

Estrone (E1) may be measured in women who have

gone through menopause to determine their

estrogen levels. It also may be measured in

men or women who might have cancer of the

ovaries camera.

2. Estrogen ELSA Kit

After introducing you the tests, here we can

get a glimpse of Estrogen ELSA Kit. Creative

Diagnostics offers a wide variety of ELISA kit

s currently available. The Estrogen ELISA Kit

is an immnoassay for detection of Estrogen.

Based on the principle of 1) Competitive

Reaction, which is relied on the recognition

of ES by specific monoclonal antibodies;

2. Chromogenic Reaction, which means that

the presence of ES is detected by adding a

chromogenic substrate; and 3) Quantitative

Analysis, the ES concentration in each sample

is accurately calculated by interpolation

using the absorbance intensity obtained from

the standard curve, Creative Diagnostics can

definitely meet you needs.

If you need any assistance, our experienced

scientists are more than happy to provide

optimized protocols and helpful technical

support to accelerate your research.
