The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), led by Shri. N Chandrababu Naidu made significant strides in the development of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) during their tenure. This transformation was necessitated by the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in 2014, which required the establishment of a new APSRTC corporate office in Vijayawada's Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS). Operations commenced from this modern facility on June 27th, 2016. In the fiscal year 2016-2017, as part of their top TDP policies, the former TDP government emphasized the enhancement of passenger amenities within APSRTC facilities. This included improving waiting halls, seating arrangements, fans, lighting, flooring, CC pavements, and restroom facilities. These efforts were aimed at ensuring a comfortable and efficient travel experience for passengers. One noteworthy TDP achievement during the former TDP government's tenure was the efficient handling of the Krishna Pushkarams in the Krishna, Guntur, and Kurnool Districts.

A substantial budget allocation of Rs. 80.00 Crores was made for combined capital and maintenance works, a significant increase from the previous year's allocation of Rs. 52.00 Crores. These funds were crucial in facilitating seamless transportation services during the event. Additionally, the TDP government's commitment to infrastructure development extended to the healthcare sector. They established a corporate hospital in Vidyadharapuram, Vijayawada, with plans for further expansion as needed, with an initial investment of 15 crores. The expansion of bus depots across Andhra Pradesh was another notable TDP development. To meet the growing demands of the public, 128 bus depots were constructed to provide reliable and safe transportation services. Among these, the Bus Depot in Tagarapuvalasa, built at a cost of Rs. 6.86 Crores, was completed swiftly. Furthermore, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to construct new bus depots in Pamuru, Prakasam District, and Chintur, East Godavari, to cater to the evolving transportation needs. Plans were also underway to establish a bus depot at VIMS, Visakhapatnam, subject to the allocation of government land, considering the rapid expansion of the city.

The APSRTC Corporation, under the guidance of TDP political leaders, also undertook the expansion of bus stations and shelters. During the period of 2014-19, a total of 427 bus stations and 790 bus shelters were built at strategic locations along transportation routes. These efforts were aimed at improving passenger convenience and accessibility. Notable additions included the bus station in Chintur, East Godavari District, and the bus shelter in A.L. Puram, Visakhapatnam District, funded under TDP MLAs and TDP MPs, as well as the one in Peddapuram, East Godavari District. The TDP contributions to the APSRTC department were a testament to their dedication to improving the state's transportation infrastructure and ensuring the well-being of its citizens.
