Cars are a Reflection of the Owner’s Personality

Cabs are one of the most preferred modes of private transport. While travelling to a new country booking a cab can be the best way to commute. However, every country has a different guideline for the cab usage and diverse ways to calculate fares.
We take a look at cabs from around the world:
- USA: Most cities in the US have ‘Yellow Cabs’. These cabs are canary yellow in colour and they get their name from this. However, there are other coloured cabs too, such as blue, green, beige, and more. But, basically the country is known for the yellow coloured ones. These cabs are owned by private companies, but need to get a license for plying on the city roads. In New York, the cabs need a medallion or a registration number which is displayed on the cab. Cab drivers accept cash and a few of them accept credit cards too. Tipping is the norm in the country and this goes for cabs services too.
- India: Yellow, combination of yellow & black, and white are the colours of taxis in India. Cabs are usually easily available in most of the cities. The cabs are metered and the commuter needs to pay in cash.
- UK: There are two types of cabs that ply in the country. Black cabs and minicabs. Black cabs are very common and can be hailed on the road. In fact, London is revered for the black coloured cabs. Minicabs have to be booked in advance and it is illegal for these cabs to pick up passengers without prior booking.
- France: Cabs in this country do not have any specific colour. Only the ones labelled ‘Taxis Parisien’ are the licensed one.
- Germany: One would get to see cream-colored cabs in Germany which have a yellow and black taxi sign on the hood. The country is known to be the birthplace of sedans and hence, most cabs here are of this type. Compared to most parts of the world, the taxi service in this country is much regularized.
- Russia: Gypsy cabs are very common here. A contrast to Germany, the Russian cab service is not much dependable. Getting cheated by the drivers is a great possibility too.
