Extreme Skills

Author: Chaitanya Kumari

By making a mention of "extreme skills", reference is being made to other-than-ordinary abilities. People can develop these abilities in any activity that tests the physical/mental strength of an individual.

In some instances, the skills displayed are beyond the average human ability and almost reach a superhuman level. Here, it has to be specifically noted that such instances are very few; not every person can achieve it. But, markedly enhancing the already-present abilities is very much within the reach of almost every individual.

  • When a person sincerely perseveres in the direction of acquiring extreme skills, they will invariably become more capable than they currently are.
  • If a person is serious about obtaining the highest level of skills in any discipline, they must start with total confidence. If there is a lack of self-confidence, they won’t be able to go too far; their skills will more or less remain stagnant.
  • It’s of equal importance that they possess excellent levels of concentration. It is only then that they will be in a better position to gain new insights and hone their skills.
  • Many people hold on to an erroneous notion about efforts to develop extreme skills. They say that this is something similar to wishful thinking, and it shouldn’t be attempted in the first place.
  • But the fact is fully in stark contrast to it. The current skill sets of people get enhanced in those endeavors; they will have an upper hand over those who didn’t even try. And, this gives a major advantage in this age where there is fierce competition in all fields.
  • At this juncture, an aspect is worthy of special mention. In ancient times, the acquisition of other-than-usual skills was something that was not uncommon. The number of people who achieved that was way higher than what it is today. In that bygone era, we had many art forms and specialized subjects that awakened the creativity latent in every human being. As a direct result of that, people had minimal hassles in displaying their full potential.
  • These art forms and subjects were such that they were more concerned with positively influencing the overall lives of people. It was not just about becoming competent in only a few fields of activity.
  • The above arts and subjects were taught by teachers full of positive energy and a powerful aura. In the typical classroom of those days, these energies were passed on to the students. As an outcome of that, their abilities increased in no uncertain terms.
  • There were numerous disciplines, such as interpreting omens, fighting against enemies, wrestling, and proficiency in many languages. People who toiled with the utmost dedication in any of these areas were able to obtain extreme abilities. They were able to become phenomenally successful in their lives.
  • It’s rather unfortunate that modernization has made people forget the importance of all those art forms and areas of study. As a logical consequence of that, people have begun to discount "extreme skills" as a thing that isn’t possible in practical life.
  • The art forms of the ancient era enabled a person to keep their body, soul, and mind balanced. When people achieve that balance, exhibiting extreme skills is not that difficult.
  • When people adopt a holistic approach toward becoming knowledgeable and more capable, acquiring extraordinary skills becomes comparatively simple. And, it is this holistic perspective that can be seen in age-old art forms and areas of study.
