SEMA’s ‘Hottest 4x4-SUV’: Jeep Wrangler awarded yet again

For the fifth year in a row, the Jeep Wrangler, Mopar's most accessorized vehicle, has been named the "Hottest 4x4-SUV" of the year at the 2014 Specialty Equipment Market Association trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada. SEMA's Hottest SUV Award is given to vehicle models which specialty equipment manufacturers think are the best off-road platforms for accessorizing in order to showcase the manufacture’s hottest new parts and accessories.

The 2014 winning selection was determined by surveying all of the participating SEMA exhibitor's vehicles at the convention. That common metric helps to identify emerging trends as the SEMA Show exhibitors tend to only invest in the vehicles they think are the top car-enthusiast prospects for the upcoming model year, which in turn helps to focus the direction of the $33-billion-a-year U.S. industry.

As reported by AutoClubNews.com, Chris Kersting, SEMA’s President and CEO, presented the 2014 award to Pietro Gorlier, Mopar’s Parts, Service and Customer Care President and CEO, at the SEMA Media breakfast. Kersting indicated that data shows the availability of a wide range of accessories can aggressively impact new vehicle sales. Kersting went on to say that by the Jeep Wrangler winning SEMA's Hottest SUV award yet again reinforced the vehicle’s position as the best off-road vehicle for expressing the consumers' originality. Gorlier added the Jeep Wrangler continues to be the most Mopar-accessorized vehicle, and to have the Wrangler win the award for the fifth consecutive year demonstrates the vehicle’s popularity.
