Menthol is obtained from mint, corn mint or peppermint oils that is a crystalline compound, white in color and have strong fragrance. It is solid at room temperature it is solid and melts above it.

The herb Mentha Arvensis is highly popular as mentha that is largely grown in the Uttar Pradesh State which is situated in north India. The white and colorless menthol crystals are highly acknowledge for their refreshing, strong and effective fragrance of mint. Menthols are organic, pure and natural crystals with a refreshing and cool fragrance of mint. Menthol is a substance acquired from the removal of oil from mint, peppermint and cornmint oils.

Menthol crystals have a number of uses. They can be used in various products such as oral hygiene, tobacco, perfumery and pharmaceuticals. Having strong minty odor, the percentage of usage of these crystals in a product can vary from.2% to 10% as per the requirement of the end product which is being formulated.

Menthol crystals are extensively used as an external product for analgesic by diluting it in another materials, it can be rubbed above the areas of the skin where pain is received. These crystals generate the feeling of cool & relax from pain by activating the anxiety in the epidermis. The menthol crystals contain antispasmodic, local anesthetic and anti-irritant features. The most common and important benefit delivered by it is oral hygiene. This crystal is massively used to fight with bad breath because it can generate a refreshing flavor.

These crystals are widely used in cosmetic products, creams, toothpaste, lip balms, mouth fresheners, cough syrups, conditioners, shampoos and other various products. It can clear up various problems related to coughing and breathing. These crystals' ability of dissolving in oil & alcohols and their strong aroma make them a most desirable products for perfumery and scent industries.

For slight irritations of throat, menthol crystals can be utilized in various pharmaceutical items like cough syrups and medicines, throat lozenges and cough drops. The addition of this crystal will cause a cooling and soothing sensation in the inflamed area.?Because crystals of menthol have anti irritant and antipruritic qualities, they are great for the creams and balms which are used as anti itch.Owing to their amazing cooling, analgesic and anesthetic features, these crystals are broadly helpful for the treatment of sunburns and burns caused by razor.

The shelf life for these crystals is approximately two years when stored carefully. Menthol can be best stored in a glass jar which should be fitted tightly, double lined or aluminum containers. These mentholshould be kept in a dry and cool area which must be away from heat and direct sunlight.
