The nine months of pregnancy is a phase that seems to be long but passes by sooner than expected as it is full of anticipation and excitement. The would-be-mother should take utmost care in order to ensure the best of health and strong future of the new born. The four mantras that should be followed are the diet, rest, exercise and happiness. During pregnancy it should be made sure that a would-be-mother is following up with these mantras religiously. Another thing which is crucial is comfort; make sure to be comfortable in the dress worn and also of the surroundings. As mentioned above about the four mantras, the diet of a pregnant mother should be charted out with extreme care as the same diet provides nutrition to the fetus also. Similarly adequate rest is need during the pregnancy, however too much of rest can be detrimental. Thus many experts suggest that during pregnancy with adequate rest one also requires to exercise. Workout or exercise is beneficiary against back aches, and energies the would-be-mother.   • For the first, one should take the support of a back of chair. Ensure that the one of the hands is clasping the chair’s back rest firmly. Then turn 45 degree with the help of the knee and toes, plus pulling the belly button up and in. Then one should bend one’s knees as far as possible along with keeping the back straight. If comfortable one could get back to normal posture and restart it. This exercise strengthens quadriceps, hamstrings and butt, along with improving the balance.
  • For the next exercise, one essentially needs a mat, lie on the mat with right side up. The head should be supported with one’s forearm and right leg should be folded in 45 degree angle and stretch out the left leg straight. Then the left leg should be raised up to about the hip’s height. This action should be repeated on the other side too. While exercising make sure the balance of the body is stabilized. This exercise will assist in strengthening the muscles of inner thighs.
  • This exercise requires the body to rest on the arms and allows the baby bump to sag, but the back should be straight. One should continue this exercise for one or two breaths only.
  • Recreational game is a good way of exercising but it should not involve too much running and vigorous activity. Activity such as scuba diving is not safe during pregnancy.
Any of the exercises mentioned above should not be done only without prior consultation with a doctor. Regarding the forth mantra, that is to be happy is also vital.
