Non-surgical Liposuction Explained by Experts of Sculptorbody

Liposuction which is a body altering process also known as lipoplasty ("fat modeling"), liposculpture suction lipectomy ("suction-assisted fat removal") is part of the many processes of cosmetic surgery that removes fat from many different sites on the human body. The body can have fat removed from various places such as the abdomen, arms or even the buttock in what leaves the body tighter or looking smaller without the fat.

Liposuction has been always known to solve the extra fat that hangs on people’s body but over time has become dangerous with some surgeries going awry. This shows that not everyone can undergo liposuction and as such there is the need to understand who is eligible to undergo liposuction. To be a good candidate for liposuction, one must usually be over 18 and in good general health, have an ongoing diet and exercise regimen, and have fatty pockets of tissue available in certain body areas. The older the person the harder it is to also undergo liposuction. This is because the skin has less elasticity to wrap itself around the new shape of the body after such a procedure takes place. The Liposuction process has various side effects such as:-

  • Bruising: can be painful in the short term, and should fade after a few weeks.
  • Swelling: should subside gradually over a month or two.
  • Scars: will vary in size depending on the particular procedure, and should fade over the weeks. Scarring is an individual thing, partly dependent on heredity. For some, scar healing may take as long as a year.
  • Pain: should be temporary and controlled by either over-the-counter medication, or by a prescription.
  • Numbness: sometimes persists for a few weeks.
  • Post-operative weight gain
  • Limited mobility: will depend on the exact procedure.

However there are liposuction alternatives too which have evolved as times have too.

Liposuction alternatives are techniques that externally apply high-intensity ultrasound, lasers and radio frequency waves to liquefy the fat inside your body without ever penetrating the skin. Even massage is utilized (Endermologie) in order to remove fat the non-surgical way. The fat is then transported out of your body via your body’s own mechanisms of expelling waste and metabolizing fatty compounds (mostly by means of the lymphatic system). Sometimes a bit of cardio after the treatment can improve the elimination of fat. This is better than liposuction which will have you possibly immobile for a while until that incision heals. Other methods of non-surgical liposuction alternatives include Cryolipolysis which is the non-invasive cooling of adipose tissue to induce lipolysis - the breaking down of fat cells - to reduce body fat without damage to other tissues or even proper dieting and exercise which will have you looking good in no time.

Post liposuction treatment is self-explanatory. This is the process of healing after liposuction which is usually surgically done. Channels are formed by the cannula (instrument that sucks out the fat) moving under the skin that can fill up with fluid and the tissue also becomes swollen. Manual Lymph Massage helps to move the fluid by gently pumping it back into the lymph vessels. Reducing the swelling can reduce discomfort. Without Lymph Massage (LDT or MLD) the inflammation can evolve into fibrosis (a permanent hardening of the tissue) or a seroma (pocket of serum) can form. Lymph Drainage Therapy greatly reduces healing time for bruises that form after liposuction by cleansing the intercellular spaces where waste and old blood cells are trapped. This process is also necessary before the procedure at least once too. Manual Lymph massage can be done even immediately after liposuction. The post liposuction treatment doesn’t have a deadline as even a month after the procedure can be done however if later and one feels having lumps then a doctor should be contacted immediately to ensure the body has not formed fibroids.
