In my beauty bag: ZM's Megan Sellers

As co-host of the ZM Breakfast show, Megan Sellers loves talking about all that's fresh in the world of music, fashion and celebrities. She's also passionate about beauty, health and wellbeing – here's a peek at the products she can't live without.

SKIN

I like to use natural products on my skin. Partly because I am allergic to some perfumes, but I also don't like the idea of putting chemicals all over my face. I like the Antipodes skincare range, and I use a lot of natural organic rosehip oil on my face. My new fave is straight-up coconut oil!

I love Coola sunscreen. It is naturally scented, and has 70 per cent certified organic ingredients. I also use their tinted moisturiser with SPF every day.

I really like getting microdermabrasion from the Caci Clinic. It keeps your skin looking fresh. My secret to good skin is to drink lots of water. And I'm really loving face oils at the moment. Coconut oil is really great, it's natural and hydrating and a nice side effect is that it helps your eyebrows and eyelashes grow!

MAKEUP

I started wearing makeup when I was 10. My mum gave in I think. I literally wore purple eyeshadow and cheap play lipsticks.

I love Smashbox Brow Tech. It's so easy to use, just like a crayon, and stays on all day. I think a good primer is helpful too – it helps keep your foundation on so it doesn't go in all your creases. I do my makeup at 4am so it needs to be long lasting! I also love MAC Penultimate eyeliner. It's so easy to use for a winged look. It's just like a little vivid marker, and doesn't smudge.

In my handbag I have a million lipsticks. I have a ridiculous obsession! I don't even wear lipstick that often, but I must have close to 12 or so in my handbag alone. I also have perfume, tweezers, a nail file and all those essentials.

HAIR

I am terrible with my hair! However I have been enjoying Jasmine and Henna Fluff-Ease from Lush. It's a natural treatment to make your hair feel soft and thicker.

I hardly ever go to a salon. I am trying to grow my hair, and I don't regularly dye it, so I don't have much of a reason to go. I just use the Lush mask, and I try to use split end treatments to help me grow it.

I have a ghd iron and curler, and I use my hairdryer when I don't have time to let it air dry.

NAILS

I get regular manicures from Leah Light Nails & Beauty. I have managed, with their help, to grow my natural nails super long. I get Artistic Color Gloss every couple of weeks so I don't have to worry about chipping, and it also help protect them.

I usually like to keep it pretty classic. I don't have nail art much anymore, and I like reds, maroons, nudes or grey. I'm not that adventurous, although as I say this I have blue glitter on.

I used to like nail art when I had little stubby nails, but now I have grown them long I like to keep it minimal. I think they look a bit full-on when they are long with lots of nail art.

FRAGRANCE & BODY

I have lots of fragrances, but my favourite is Narciso Rodriguez For Her, or Stella McCartney's Stella – the original.

I used to wear Gucci Envy Me, that was a fave as a teenager. Also Lancome Hypnose, Dior Addict, Versace Bright Crystal – all the classics.

When it comes to body products, I am swayed by anything that smells pretty to be honest. I do like coffee butter, or cocoa butter, as a lotion though. I don't have a bath! #sadface. But if I go to a hotel I love bubbles or a bath bomb, and a cup of tea.

LIFESTYLE

I treat myself with a facial. And maybe a pedicure. My beauty philosophy is to keep it as natural as possible. I keep hydrated internally and externally, and I am refined-sugar free. That, without a doubt, has helped my skin!

My tip for travelling is to keep facial wipes in your bag! I like to wear makeup when I fly, but by the end of a long-haul everyone looks rough. It's so nice to wipe it all off with a cold wipe and use some moisturiser.

Always take a mini deodorant in your bag too. It's the best way to freshen up.

I am lucky, as I get sent a lot of new products in my job. I do like to look in organic stores too for new lotions and hair care. I got kicked out of one recently after I was in there for over an hour and hadn't realised they had closed!

For my beauty icon, I love Lana Del Rey. She is both classic and a trendsetter. I love her styling, makeup, nails – all of it! She's a beauty!

The one product I can't live without is rosehip oil.

My best beauty quick fix is perfume on zits. My mum told me that when I was young, but it is great! The alcohol dries it out and, bonus, your face smells beautiful!

A beauty mistake from my past was over-plucking my eyebrows. I like to think we all did it in the 90s. If I could wave a magic wand, I'd fix those eyebrows. They are actually a different shape. It's annoying, I can see it in photos.

The beauty product I think needs be invented? Good lord! An instant wrinkle filler? A sunburn reverser? Actually that's brilliant! I've nailed it.
