When an individual has been recommended Invisalign, the most common confusion or question everyone wants to have an answer to is whether to go to a dentist or an orthodontist for the procedure? Whether you may live in Hawaii or Houston, Invisalign is bound to bring you to this stage. And the answer is quite straight.

Both, i.e. the dentist as well as an orthodontist are trained more or less equally well and on similar foundation, hence one’s experience and exposure plays a more important role here. A less trained orthodontist vs an experienced dentist, you should choose the latter.

First let’s understand what exactly Invisalign is. It is a relatively recent technology used for straightening teeth with help of a series of transparent aligners or retainers. Patients choose them over braces simply because they don’t show as prominently as braces do. The second reason for them to choose Invisalign is also that they do not require too much maintenance. People, who have used the traditional braces, know how bulky the braces are and how much looking after they need. So people are increasingly going for Invisalign in Houston, Hollywood, and Holland alike! Everyone is talking about this highly convenient option.

I remember, a few years back when I lived in Houston, Invisalign had just been introduced for dentists, but orthodontists soon joined in and became well trained in modifying the treatment when required. But now with technology progressive at such a fast pace, that modification is simply not required. Now Invisalign has become such a highly flexible and customizable treatment that both the dentists as well as orthodontists are performing it on patients at ease with great success.

So coming back to whether one should go with dentist or orthodontist when it comes to Invisalign, the best option is to go for an experienced one of the two who has solved more dental problems, who has solved more complicated problems and who has seen more patients. They also have a ranking system in place according to which the more number of patient a dentist or an orthodontist treats and solves the higher will be his/her ranking. Based on it one can choose.
