Malicious Apps Reported at Google Play Store

Google’s Android, the most used operating system being affordable and user friendly powers over half of the smartphone segment. It’s a usual practice of average smartphone users to download a game from play store to kill time. This looks quite innocuous with the presumption that play store is the safest source to install an application from. As per the recent reports, about 36.5 million Android users are affected by a malware, available at Google play store in the cooking and fashion gaming applications range. And all these raise questions over Google’s security aspects.

The malicious app developers are smart enough to collect revenue for attackers through Google ads. Report says that these vulnerable apps are parked cozily at Google play store from last couple of years without being detected. These gaming apps are designed such that Google doesn’t catch its nefarious nature. When a user clicks on such apps, the apps will be downloaded from a non-Google server and its code makes the infected phones as the source to make money by clicking on Google ads.

Google reports the infected apps’ removal from the play store but still app store is not safe being affected by the speedy spread of the malware named Judy, published by varied publishers, primly by a Korean entity ENISTUDIO to prey Android users.
