External appearance is being given importance, and so is taking care of the body. ‘Body shaming’, the term that is given to troll someone’s weight on social media, has become common. So, if you don’t have much exercise time, it’s not the end of the world. You can avoid negative comments with one simple step – Going bananas!

Bananas have three major factors working in its favour – price, availability and calories. In India, banana is a fruit for everybody, available at a posh hypermarket or even a vendor on the street. It can’t burden your hands either as you can carry a huge quantity of it anywhere with you anytime.

Bananas have a moderate count of calories in comparison to other fruits. A medium-sized, 7.5 inch banana possesses 105 calories, not even 10% of the 1800 calories which a normal person usually requires throughout the day.

This fruit contains Vitamin C, which has tremendous fat-removing potential. Even if you walk for 30-45 minutes after consuming a banana, 25% of your fat can get cut down. With fibre content in it, a chemical called acetate in the digestive system flows into the brain, removing signals of hunger.

It is also one of the few fruits having 75% water in it, and our body is 70% water! The math becomes easy to do. With good carbohydrates helping blood flow, bananas make you energetic throughout the day. If only having bananas can get boring, you can even have it sliced in a fruit salad or mix it with green vegetables in a smoothie. Both of which are very quick, healthy and tasty options.

Many sportspersons & athletes are recommended to have bananas before a competition, especially if it involves more endurance.Even when gym-goers prep for their daily workout, they pop in a banana or two get that instant dose of energy.

We originate from apes, it is said. Maybe going back to our roots is the solution for the best body that we believe we deserve to have. Now, what’s stopping you?
