Basement, though being the area of your house that remains mostly out of your sight and thoughts, is still a very important section of your home. Basement of a home is usually big in size and is used to store stuffs, used as an electric room or other productive purposes. The reason being, they prefer privacy. When it comes to basement flooring, well, there are quite a few options you might choose from. You can use marble or tiles, you may also use cork floor tile or simple laid a carpet on top of the floor. There are things you can do for the flooring of your basement.

Cork Flooring

Besides using cork as caps of wine bottles, these items are also used as flooring materials. Cork flooring is not a new concept and it evolved in the United States in the early part of 1900. Cork flooring is much cheaper compared to other flooring material. Marble, quality floor tiles or even a decent carpet would cost you more than cork flooring. Cork flooring is very attractive and has certain benefits. The most important benefit is, it absorbs sound and wetness. Cork, being a soft material, anything dropping on it, would not break. Cork flooring installation is very simple, and you could do it yourself along with the help of your family members of friends. Cork tiles come in pack. All you need to do is to cut them into pieces. Once you have cut the pieces out, it is time to fix them to the floor. This part is also very easy. You may apply a strong glue to fix them to the floor or, if you have a wooden floor, you may nail them to the floor. Cork flooring installation could be completed in no time

Wall Tiles

Like in floors, cork tiles are also being used as wall tiles. Cork wall tiles happen to also be inexpensive items and are very easy to install.
