In India still many people look out for a Government Job Why? Just because government job comes with a job security, good pay package and lots of perks. Just for one vacancy there are lots of candidates applying. To remain ahead here are some of the tips on how to prepare for any government job

  • First of all to get the news about the government jobs just don’t depend upon on the newspapers there are lot of online websites, blogs, job portals and social networking sites through which you can get the latest updates.
  • Think about your suitable job according to your interest. Also as per your educational qualification you can apply for the relevant post.
  • To prepare for the exams find a best coaching classes and the best study material. Study from the updated and latest study material.
  • If you are in college and preparing for govt job
then get connected with your seniors who have already passed the government exams. Get an idea about the exams from them.
  • Don’t buy too many books, just buy the best one. Solve the earlier years question papers this will give you an idea about the exams and also a confidence. Also on YouTube there are some educational videos Watch it. Unsolved papers will help you a lot. Try to solve more questions within less time. For current affairs and general knowledge watch English news channel.
  • Make your own time table and follow it. Time table will increase the dedication towards the studies and the success. Divide the subjects and topics accordingly so that you don’t get bored studying continuously one subject. Group study will also help you a lot. Study at least 7 -8 hours in a day.

Most of the government jobs exams pattern is same there is not much difference in exams with different post.

The exam contains four subjects with total 150 questions on :-

General Knowledge - For general knowledge read everyday newspaper or watch on TV the news by this you will remain updated about the current happenings in the world. Also some magazines like India Today, Competitive Success, Current Affairs and Pratiyogita Darpan are useful to increase the general knowledge. Also TV Channels like Discovery, National Geographic will help you a lot.

Maths/ Quantitative Aptitude - Solve the maths sample paper which are online as well as offline. Keep a watch on how much time it takes to solve a particular question. Find the quick tricks to solve the huge formulas.

English – In English subject grammar questions, essay type questions and comprehensive are asked. The job seeker can improve their English language skills by reading English newspaper, watching News channel and also by the English grammar books. Also you can refer the 10th and 12th standard books to understand the level of questioning.

General Reasoning- Many of them think general reasoning as a hard topic. Find some tricks to solve this type of questions. Self confidence and hard work will take you a step ahead. Try to solve previous years papers so that you know where you lack.

The total duration for solving these questions is 2 hours.

Negative Marking

Today in every sector of government job examination there is negative marking. If you are confident then there is no need to worry about the negative marks. Negative marking has been kept as some candidates are not sure about the answer and they just guess among the options available. So by negative marking candidates also remain alert. To avoid negative marking read the question carefully and avoid the guessing from any one option as it will put you in trouble.

Tips to follow in examination hall

First read the question paper carefully and follow the instruction. Solve the question in which you are strong. Just don’t waste time on one question for longer time. If you are doubtful about any question then solve another question.
