There are many scary thoughts about taking an international internship. What if you do not like being so far away from you family and from your hometown? What if something went wrong with your internship? what if you would not be able to communicate with anyone? These are some questions that may pop into your head while contemplating an internship abroad, so to ease your mind, I have came up with some reasons why you would benefit from taking an internship far from home.

CULTURAL KNOWLEDGE

You would learn many cultural things while being in a different country. You would eventually learn how to speak their language and how to communicate in other ways such as hand signals, body language, etc. People all over the world have to move to a completely different country for work or for a family emergency, and they are in the same boat as you!

FINANCES

There is a change that in a different country, the company that is accepting your internship will offer better income than a company in your own country will (if they pay at all). The employees could be more friendly and interested in your ethnicity, and your manager could be more respectful of you and all the other interns.

YOU NEVER KNOW UNTIL YOU TRY

Have you ever the head the saying “You don’t know if you like it until you try it.” Well, in this case that is very true. You might end up really loving the internship and all that comes with it! Many different countries offer internship programs for students that want to do something with their lives. Buenos Aires internship programs are excellent! If you do not like the internship there are things you can do, you may have to pay if you want to drop out, and it would not look very good on your academic experience, however there are other options. Do you research on “what if I don’t like my internship” and plenty of informational websites will pop up that are loaded with information on what to do if you end up regretting taking the internship!

International internships are huge learning experiences. You learn how tot do the career field of you choice, while being in an amazing place such as Buenos Aires that offer great internship opportunities. While working, you get the experience of a lifetime, allowing you to explore the country and live how other people around the world live. It may not be for very long (which could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on what you think), but at least you would be learning other things rather than what you are actually there for. Many people would take an international internship chosen out of thousands. As I said before, you may end up liking it and wanting to stay there for further education!
