Many people have the question in mind as to whether being a nurse is a fulfilling and rewarding occupation. The truth of the matter is it can sometimes be very frustrating, but, at the same time, it is a great way to enjoy the work that you do because you get to help others. Thankfully, many nurses report a high job satisfaction, and that is because of the relationships they often form with their patients, and they oftentimes come to treasure conversations that they get to have with their patients. There are many laughs and heartfelt talks as well as moments that you can enjoy with them and their families. This is not a daily occurrence, but when it does happen it is an incredible feeling that reminds people why they love being in the nursing profession.

In many ways people compare being a new nurse to being a new parent. There is a honeymoon. Followed by a bit of a lull where emotions are temporarily muted. The key is throughout all of this work to take care of yourself outside of the job and to be kind to yourself. It can also be very enjoyable to count on the coworkers that you have for some great laughs and common experiences that can be had throughout the work shifts.
