Here’s how to dress like a homewrecking LA nanny

Despite what people are saying about her, Christine Ouzounian, the infamous former nanny of famous exes Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, is more than just an alleged home wrecker. She’s also an aspiring reality star, the proud owner of a new $43,000 Lexus and — as evidenced by a string of recent outings — the ultimate arbiter of SoCal style.

The 28-year-old Santa Monica, Calif., native may not rock the chic Acne Studios knits or Saint Laurent boots favored by the blossoming breed of indie Los Angeleno, but her look is prototypically West Coast in the way of "The Hills"-era Lauren Conrad.

It’s a casual anti-uniform (hello, cutoffs and color; button-ups and black, be gone!) that says, "I’m hip enough to make matcha tea with the kids" without screaming, "I’m here to steal your rich man."

For showbiz nannies, it’s the ideal aesthetic — and a Trojan horse when they happen to be hot. Here, an easy guide on how to dress the part:

The hair

It should always be long, lightly fried and at least partially blond, as though you spent a lot of money on highlights in the salon but can’t quite afford the upkeep.

The shades

The jewelry

Statement gems aren’t for chill, down-to-earth girls. It’s all about small, stackable gold pieces that glimmer in the sun — a more insidious attention-grabbing tactic.

The belt

Boho accessories are a Cali-girl birthright. Always buy them in brown, which, of course, is earthier than black.

The bag

In a perfect world, it’s both timeless and trendy, like Ouzounian’s Henri Bendel satchel. But size and shape aren’t nearly as important as the top handle, which allows the purse to rest on the forearm like a shopping bag so you’re free to track self-perpetuated buzz on Twitter.

The jeans

SoCal is a denim mecca, so these are essential. Whether dark or light wash, raw or distressed, they must always flatter your butt and be referred to as "skinnies."

The shoes

Heels? Too obvious. For Californians — and for people who deal with children, especially — easy, breezy ballet flats and sandals are the way to go.
