The desire for flight has allowed our civilization to find ways of getting itself airborne. So why would you want to come crashing back to earth? Why not?

There are few thrills in the world that can compete with the trill of gravity pulling your body back to earth. After plummeting for a few hundred, if not thousand, feet you can enjoy gliding down. If you think "I want to do a parachute jump", then you have two options. You can either choose Jumping out plane or you can learn how to Base jump. So, how do you choose between the two extreme sports?

Here are a few facts that can help you decide between skydiving and BASE jumping.

Jump out of a plane

When you think "i want to do a parachute jump" do you imagine jumping out plane? Then you should go for skydiving. Skydiving is a safer option since it allows you a few thousand feet for you to open your parachute. If something goes wrong with the primary chute then you get hundreds of feet to deploy the backup chute. Skydiving offers a more aesthetic jump as well. There is much more for you to enjoy while skydiving. The higher you go the more you enjoy the jump since it takes longer to descend. Many skydivers even take the opportunity to form group patterns in the sky. You can check out videos on Youtube where skydivers turned themselves into Tetris blocks. The time and space for manoeuvring allows the divers to put on a show.

Short and thrilling

If you do not want to waste time in the sky then you can learn how to BASE jump. BASE jumping offers a more thrilling experience. You have a few hundred feet between yourself and the ground. If you miss deploying your parachute by even a second, you might be too late. You can watch the ground approaching faster. This is what makes BASE jumping riskier. BASE jumps are harder to execute because of legal problems as well.

So, for a more aesthetic jump choose skydiving but for a jump with more thrills choose BASE jumping. Whichever you choose always get sufficient amount of training before jumping.
