With a variety of envelopes to select from here is a brief guide to help select the appropriate envelope for the appropriate purpose.

Envelopes Weights (GSM)

Envelopes can be discovered in various weight or thicknesses and are calculated in Grams per square inch or GSM. In exactly the same way that paper is evaluated, the higher the GSM of the envelope the thicker the paper or card it is created from.

Different Types of Envelopes

Plain Envelopes

Plain envelopes are useful if you are looking for a much more customized letters and as they contain no window the address needs to be published on the envelope. These are also useful if you are want to directly print onto the envelope.

Windowed Envelopes

Windowed envelopes contain a small clear plastic film on the front side of the envelope which is used to display the printed address of the letter or document inside.

Padded Envelopes

Extremely powerful and tear-resistant, padded envelopes are perfect for large or heavy products as well as sensitive products such as CD or DVDs. Manilla/Printed Envelopes

Most envelopes come in an option of either white or manilla. Manilla is the conventional brownish design of envelope that is available. They also present a better overall look to the recipient as they have a more significant feel to them.

Gusset Envelopes

As Gusset envelopes usually keep bigger products they are usually designed out of heavyweight paper to help avoid ripping and harm in transit. Gummed Seal Envelopes

Gummed Seal envelopes are the envelopes that have a strip pf adhesive on the flap of the envelope that becomes sticky when moistened.

Self Seal Envelopes

Press Seal Envelopes

Press seal envelopes are the envelopes which have two strips of adhesive,i.e., one on the flap and other on the body of the envelope. These are pressed together to type a powerful connection.

Direct Mail Envelopes

These Professional quality mailing envelopes are often used by professional sectors and government departments to get a fast response from customers and clients. They contain a reply envelope which can be used by the receiver to reply back to the source of the correspondence. They are usually used for metered reply mail, free post reply mail and courtesy reply mail.
