How Can You Keep Your Mitsubishi L200 Engine Fighting Fit?
Posted: Sep 10, 2015
In order to get the best performance from your car, it is an imperative to keep its engine in a good working condition. Yes, you have to take into account your car’s engine health, if you do not want to encounter any engine-related problem in future. Here are some tips for keeping the engine in good condition.
Engine Lubrication
It is very important to keep engine’s part lubricated. To keep the unit well-lubricated you have to change its oil frequently after a specified period of time. When oil changes are not done beyond the recommended intervals, i.e., 5,000km, engine sludge gets formed that obstructs oil passages and oil flow, resulting in premature engine damage. With regular oil and filter change, it is possible to keep its unit in an excellent working condition. Regular oil changes ensure quick engine start-ability, no engine noise, acceleration performance and better rotation gain at high rotation speed.
Air Cleaner
An air cleaner determines an engine’s performance, up to certain extent. As outside air travels through the intake in its way to the engine, it passes through the air cleaner. In this process, dirt and debris that come along with air get trapped in air element. Over time, due to increased amount of trapped dirt airflow decreases, obstructing the air supply to the engine that further result in reduced engine power, acceleration and fuel economy.
Timing Belt
The timing belt drives the camshaft (s) ("top end") from the rotation of the crankshaft ("bottom end"). This is something that help keeps the piston and valves in "time" during operation. When the piston and valves are exposed to each other "out-of-time" is caused, that may result in serious engine damage. If the timing belt is not replaced over the recommended interval, it may lead to belt fatigue and breakage, which can result in costly repairs. And in worst situation, the whole unit will be replaced. In this case, you can think about getting Mitsubishi L200 Engines installed.
Drive Belt
The drive belt consisting of fan, power steering belt and A/C belt ensure efficient operation of engine’s components, including the alternator, power steering, air conditioner, engine cooling system etc. Failure to change the drive belt can result in an inability to start the engine, hard steering wheel operation, insufficient air conditioning system and knocking sound from the assembly.
