The history of Delhi goes back to many centuries. It was the seat of art and culture in the Mughal period. It was a prosperous city even in ancient times, and it was looted several times. The city managed to stand up on its feet each time. In the modern day, after Independence of India, Delhi was declared to be the capital of the country. The city was also declared a Union Territory. However, in recent times, it is considered more like a city with its judiciary system and Chief Minister. The city is densely populated with a population of more than 25 million, according to a recent census.

Delhi is the commercial hub of Northern India. Many textile houses and other brands have their base in the city. Some of the country’s top industries have base in Delhi. Therefore, the city contributes a substantial amount to the economy of the country. Auto Expo, the biggest exhibition of cars is held every year in Delhi. It draws a lot of foreign and domestic carmakers. Apart from this, the Commonwealth Games were held in 2010 that drew a lot of tourists and sportspersons from around the world.

Since Delhi is marked as a metropolitan city, and the capital city of the country, it enjoys excellent facilities. The infrastructural set-up of the city is quite good. Tata Power and Distribution and BSES Rajdhani jointly handle the power demand of the city. The per-capita requirement of power is much higher than the supply. Therefore, power is sourced from two companies. Telecommunication service is very good with all major service providers present in the city. The city is connected with a huge airport – Indira Gandhi International airport. It has been recently revamped and modeled according to International airports. The city is connected with several national highways. It is also connected with a metro network for inter-city travel.

You will find most projects of many real estate giants. Real estate companies like DLF, James Long La Selle, Omaxe and some others have their corporate offices in the city. The price of apartments in delhi in the city is quite steep with projects touching almost Rs 5 crores. The price range of the projects varies according to the type of project you opt. If you opt for standalone buildings, the price will be less, whereas if you opt for a highrise in a complex, the price will be more.

The primary concern of the city remains safety of women. Since the whole country has stood by the justice of women, the Government, the local police authorities, the Human Rights activists have taken drastic steps to provide justice to women. Strict rules and helpline numbers have been distributed to women of the city. Apart from this, there was a massive shortage of power in the recent past. The local Government has corrected the situation. If you can remain alert, the city is very vibrant. You get an old-world feel along with modern life.
