A grass strimmer is also known as brush cutter and they often use a flexible single filament like nylon to cut grass instead of blades. The technology of using filament in place of blades ensure that even the most stubborn grass, weeds and small plants are effectively sheared off the ground. The design of a strimmer is such that an operator can use it on vertical landscape where grass is to be cut off by simply tilting the machine and some of the machines are able to adjust the cutting heads according to the angle of the landscape.

A heavy duty grass strimmer is used to cut grass alongside of roads, and they are heavy enough to require the operator to use both hands. Some of the heavy duty grass trimmers have harnesses fitted on to them so as the torso could be employed to bear some of the trimmer’s weight and make it more stable and easier to use. Large strimmers are referred as brush cutter and heavy blades are used fitted to them in place of a monofilament. A blade equipped trimmer is more capable of cutting thicker woody brush. An internal combustion engine powers the strimmer and the engine is usually located at the opposite end of the cutting head.

Many strimmers can also be loaded with alternative arrangements such as a metal or nylon blade in place of the monofilament. For more powerful cutting, the stronger monofilament lines are designed in star shape to enable slicing the grass more effectively. This arrangement makes the grass strimmer more able to cut through even large woody plants or small shrubs easily.

If you have a large grass covered landscape with woody plants and shrubs, then you will need the help of a heavy duty grass strimmer powered by a petrol engine to tackle it effectively. One of the many benefits of using a petrol powered strimmer is that it can be maneuvered with greater freedom as it is not attached to an electric outlet. Additionally petrol powered grass strimmers tend to be more robust and better suited to deal with tough brush, scrub, grass, weeds and bramble in all landscapes, gardens and environments.
