9 Phases Everyone Goes through When Moving

Moving is a stressful thing, we can all agree on that. All the preparation, packing, and sometimes even crying. That's why the less it happens, the better. However, if you're planning to relocate soon, here's a funny article for you – the 9 phases of the moving.

Planning

Scheduling, writing extraordinary amounts of sticky notes, contacting removal companies. In general – trying to plan every aspect of the moving process. We all know that this is the most important stage, but also the hardest one.

Excitement

"Oh, God, I'll be so much better in my new neighbourhood!" – that's one of the sentences that make us forget about all the moving-related problems. However, this phase is the shortest one. The one that follows it is not. Sadly.

Dread

Is the public transportation good? Is there high criminal rate? What if my neighbours are awful? What if my friend breaks up with me and leaves me alone at this new place? Those are all questions that make us wonder whether we should really move to a new place.

Packing

Don't panic. You've sorted the books, all small decorations, all of the kids' toys. There's really nothing to panic. Except if you haven't sorted them properly. But hey, that happens every time.

Sweating

If you're moving during Summer, sweating is inevitable. Nevertheless, since moving is not a peace of cake, this phase illustrates every problem that you'll have. Sweating as a metaphor for working hard.

Cleaning

Don't even bother doing it on your own. The results won't be satisfying, that's for sure. Better call a team of cleaners that specialise in end-of-tenancy cleaning.

Loading & driving

Instead of screaming "BE CAREFUL" every 10 seconds, it's much better to use the services of a reputable removals company that will move your belongings safe and quick. Furthermore, do you really think that your car is suitable to relocate your stuff? It's much better to hire a man with a van instead.

Unloading

The part where you tell the movers where to leave the boxes and the furniture is easy. However, then comes the part where you have to unpack everything. Don't expect help from the kids, because they'll help you as much as to unpack the boxes with their toys. Oh, those kids.

Drinks

After all the hard weeks are over, the one thing you deserve for sure is a cold drink. Whether it'll be a beer or a cocktail – it's all up to you. What's important is to have some good time with friends at your new place. Why not invite some of the neighbours too?
