Controlling humidity levels in manufacturing sector is quite important as we will see in the later sections of this discussion. We will also go through some of the issues resulting from humidity and how dehumidifiers are able to correct those issues.

Main Benefits of Using Dehumidification Systems in Manufacturing Industry

In many manufacturing industries such as confectionary, the most common problem that is faced is of fat as well as sugar blooming. This type of blooming occurs during production or when stored if ambient air has very high humidity.

For ensuring this type of problem does not develop manufacturers need to maintain relative humidity at 50% or below level at the time of manufacture as well as storage. Additionally, where cooling tunnels are utilized, then such dry and dehumidified air assists in thwarting condensation taking place within the cooling tunnels and also over the products.

Such low humidity also assists in enhancing hygiene levels and makes sure manufactured items are not sticking onto conveyor belt.

Problem of Agglomeration

Many products are in powder form and as such they are able to quickly absorb moisture present in the air. Agglomeration is a problem where hygroscopic powders start absorbing high humidity in the air and clump together. Such type of agglomeration can result in blockage of processing equipment and also lead to growth of bacteria in such products.

Manufacturing and Necessity of Dryness in Air

There are many manufacturing processes where dry air is very necessary, let us look at some such processes in further detail in this section.

Sugar Coating

In confectionary industry it is important to control ambient humidity while products are being sugar coated. If humidity is not controlled then it can result in products sticking together as well as cause degradation of quality of such products. In addition to it, if there are damp conditions then drying consumes lot more time than required otherwise. Thus use of dehumidifier ensures that quality of product can be maintained as desired.

Packaging of Products

At the time of packaging also it is necessary to maintain desired level of humidity since it prevents products from sticking to machinery or their wrapping. In similar fashion, packing boxes can stuck into the packaging machines if such packing boxes are damp.

Similarly, if the product being manufactured is hygroscopic by nature then they can easily absorb humidity and become sticky. These products then tend to stick onto packaging machines as well as their wrapping materials. The result is that it slows down the complete production process and also creates unhygienic conditions with the premises.

There are a number of industrial dehumidifier manufacturers who can guide in the right way regarding the requirement of the dehumidifier in a particular industry.
