Some reasons why you should donate food to Syria
Posted: Sep 30, 2015
The fate suffered by Syria, once a highly peaceful and beautiful country is unprecedented in history. With years, the misery faced by the people and the lands never seems to end. The country is victimized for none of its faults and the internal clashes have thoroughly put the country in shambles. Even those people who do not know what is actually happening around them have lost their lives, forced out of homes, lost their family members, deprived of their chances to live a decent lives and are forced to take refuge in the relief camps inside and outside the country accepting what little they could get to pull on their pathetic lives.
We need to acknowledge and appreciate the fact that the international community had not been immune to raise up to the occasion. A large amount of help started pouring in to support the relief measures in Syria through the number of relief groups. Just talking of the need for food alone, we find the support is however not adequate to meet the recurring needs and the high volume requirements. Most food supplies run out before a considerable area is covered. There are still a lot of people suffering the pangs of hunger. If people really get to see the people dying in hunger and starvation, their hearts would really melt down and force them to contribute more. Especially food is something that is required on a daily basis. By the time the supplies are made to cover a given segment of people, once again it has to start from the beginning and therefore a large volume participation in this segment is the need of the hour.
Feeding the hungry souls is one of the greatest humanitarian gestures. Those who have experienced the pain of hunger and starvation would know what it amounts to feed the starving people. Among the several charities that you might think of, giving food to the needy is perhaps considered the greatest almost by all cultures. At the same time, we need to understand that the nature has provided for the sustenance of all people born on this earth. Therefore, it is our bounden duty to share the available resources and food with the people who are deprived of them during hard times. Therefore, feeding the hunger stricken people of Syria is not only a matter of sympathetic help, but also a bounden duty, responsibility and an obligation to nature. Therefore, extend your sympathy to those unprivileged people who had once lived so well and lost everything due to faults not of theirs.
A lot is to be said about the noble efforts taken by the relief groups as well. There are a large number of dedicated souls who had jumped into this humanitarian task as voluntary as well as paid workers to reach out the millions with relief materials and support. Many of them have sacrificed their lives due to working in dangerous situations. A large number of them have lost their limbs and got injured due to bombing and shelling. However, most of them have not lost their good hearts and motivation. They have managed the uncooperative fighting bodies to move into remote areas and make the supplies to the suffering people strangled there. All that we can do to support the phenomenal kind of work done there is to extend more support to feed the people by contributing whatever we can.
