Neptune: the mystic and dreamer

I read this beautiful quote this morning: "All those who have achieved great things have been great dreamers." - Orison Swett Marden

The most remote true planet in our solar system is Neptune, which is 2.68 billion miles from Earth. Neptune is one of the outer planets as we call it in astrology. Neptune rules the sign of Pisces and is thought of as the mystical saint and represents our connection with the divine and higher dimensions of consciousness. Neptune is representing our search and longing for that higher and expanded level of consciousness we call unconditional love.

Neptune is the Consciousness of Oneness and Unconditional Love

When we experience love and that deep human connection with others we are in an exalted state of consciousness which feels wonderful, satisfying and joyous. This is our birthright! This is what we all want and need to be truly happy. If we don't manage to find that experience of love in our life; we can feel disconnected, maybe even depressed or in fear. Then the world out there appears as a dark and frightening place!

Alcohol as an Attempt to Change our State of Mind

In the lower frequencies Neptune can point at a weakness or even addiction to drugs and alcohol as a short cut to a changed state of consciousness. I have seen many charts with a dominant position of Neptune and people were struggling with addictions of all kinds till they turned their life around and onto a spiritual journey. The magic of Neptune is that if you satisfy the longing for a higher state of consciousness through other means like meditation, then the addiction is falling away.

Neptune wants to Experience God

That deep inner longing that Neptune instills in us is part of our inner nature; this longing for God needs to be fulfilled! One way or the other!

And I believe that there is a better way then drugs by learning to meditate and tuning your soul to the divine. On my blog I have talked before about the benefits of a morning ritual of some kind to create a haven of peace and inspiration. If you want meditation to be a permanent part of your life it is most helpful to create a regular structure for that in your day. Mornings work best for me and I start the day from a great place of inner harmony and balance.

With our fast paced lives, the amount of time we spend in front of a computer screen and with all the responsibilities we have to fulfill; it is so easy to lose that inner calm and balance. So it seems we have many good reasons to make time for a daily meditation practice.

There are many ways to practice meditation. I just want to mention some for you to get started. The aim and result is always the same. It calms the mind, raises our consciousness, connects us with the realm of divine peace and joy, creativity and truly brings us into the present moment.

  • Concentrate on your Breath

You can just sit quietly and concentrate on your breathing. How the breath goes in through your nose, a little cool breeze, all the way down to your lungs, then there is that little still point before you release the breath and let it flow outwards. Don't push the breath, just let it flow gently and by itself till the next still point and the reversal to breathe in again. And then start the whole cycle again.

This is your connection to life right there with your breath! We breathe the air others have partaken in as well, the air which gives us oxygen to live a healthy life and connects us all.

  • Concentrate on your Kath point

The Kath point is situated 3 fingers width under your navel. It is the center of equilibrium in the body and connects with deep diaphragm breathing. You hold your attention on that point while you deeply breathe in and out, feel those belly muscles moving. This is an excellent meditation to become present and grounded in the present moment any time in your day, anywhere you are. You can just concentrate onto your Kath and breathe consciously and deeply.

  • Meditate with Crystals or Gemstones

The most well-known way for meditation with gemstones is to lie down and place one or several stones onto your body or around it. Crystals are wonderful to place on your third eye, (between your eye brows) or anywhere on your body where you want to discharge negative energy or blockages and bring in the power of healing light. You will feel fresh and renewed afterwards.

Because of the perfect crystal structure and alignment of the crystals they have the unique gift helping us with deepening our meditation and relaxing the mind. If you want to find out more about meditation with healing gemstones can find more articles and information about that subject in my book Jewelry and Gems for Self-Discovery: Choosing Gemstones that Delight the Eyes & Strengthen the Soul.

  • Dance for 15 Minutes

Yes, that might be a little weird for you in the beginning to dance with your ipod in your ears or with your stereo blazing in your living room, but you might really like it. Just pick your favorite music, slow or fast, and let your body rock. Let it move, slow or fast, just allow the movements to come from the inside out. It is a fantastic way for your body to release tensions on many levels and it is fun. Then when you sit down after your 15 minutes of "being moved" you will experience profound peace and deep relaxation.

There is a dance movement originating with Gabrielle Roth who teaches classes everywhere called: Dance you Prayers. You might be able to find it somewhere in your area. It is a most powerful group experience and worth to check it out if you like physical exercises and getting sweaty.

These are all good starting points for you to see what you like best and what might work for you.

Sometimes I just like to sit with a cup of tea and contemplate without the formal intention of meditation. I hope I have inspired you to find your own form of meditation to nourish your soul. I would love to hear back from your about your experiences and wish you a wonderful journey.
