There are several healthy diet recipes that you can whip up at home whenever you have some time off. If you’re on a diet, you can keep your motivation level high without blunting your tastebuds with some of these easy to prepare recipes. Whenever you’re in the mood for some dessert, you can go the healthy way with walnut and apple Kheer. This Kheer can be prepared using only unpeeled apples and walnuts. The latter comes loaded with healthy omega-3 fatty acids which strengthen the heart and the former is rich in fibre. If you use low fat milk, you can bring down the calorie count even more. This Kheer can be whipped up for yourself and your family members within five minutes only. This can be served thrice based on the quantity mentioned.
One of the best diet foods, this healthy Kheer requires ¼ cup of grated apple, 1 and a quarter cups of low fat milk, 2 tablespoons of chopped walnuts and a tablespoon of sugar. You simply need to mix all the ingredients in a non stick pan and put it on boil. This mixture should be cooked on a lower flame for approximately 5 minutes and should also be stirred periodically to maintain its texture. This can be served when it is still warm and makes for a fabulously healthy dessert. You can also try making your own healthy salad with bean sprouts, baby corn, cucumber and some lemony basil dressing. In this healthy recipe, the vegetables are neatly coated with basil and garlic flavored dressing. The basil and lemon dressing gives you healthy Vitamin C. Fresh basil can be substituted with a 1/4th teaspoon of dried basil for greater effect.
This recipe takes approximately 10 minutes to prepare and only a couple of minutes to cook. You will require some capsicum cubes, cucumber cubes, baby corn cubes, chopped onions, sliced mushrooms and basil, garlic, lemon juice and olive oil for the dressing. You should heat oil and then saute the garlic in the same. Basil leaves should be added to the garlic and mixed thoroughly. Once this mixture is cooled, lemon juice has to be added along with a minimal amount of sugar, pepper and salt. You should then combine this with all the vegetables and mix thoroughly. Refrigerate this mixture and serve the same. When it comes to cholesterol free fatty acid, you should use ingredients like Nutralite which is a healthy table margarine containing cholesterol fighting PUFA and MUFA.
