Cerebral Palsy, commonly referred to as ‘CP’ is basically the loss or deficiency of motor function and is mainly caused by brain damage. The anomalous development of brain of a baby that is still developing in the womb or brain injury caused during or just after birth can cause CP in a child. A patient with CP is unable to move and control body, muscle, posture and balance. It also affects the patient’s fine, gross and oral motor skills. Though it is a permanent impairment, still there are few Cerebral Palsy Treatment in India that can help in controlling and managing the life style of the patient.

The continuous research and analysis of CP says that it is damage to the brain caused at pre or post natal stage. It is incurable, permanent but it is definitely not life threatening. The life of a patient with CP is challenging but the positive side is it a result of one-time injury of brain so it doesn’t causes further degeneration of it. Lack of knowledge regarding Cerebral Palsy treatment in India often leads ignorant people to discriminate these patients. But, the fact is CP is not at all contagious or communicable. Rather, proper treatment, therapy, medications, supportive technology etc. can help to manage the lifestyle of the CP affected people to a large extent.

In India, the parents of a cerebral palsy affected child are often suggested not to waste money on it as it is a permanent and incurable impairment. The physicians refer the parents to either take alternative modalities, or do physiotherapy or take some NGO’s assistance for treatment. But, keeping pace with modern developments in medical science, various healthcare providers are offering effective and efficient facilities for the treatment of CP. But, one should also be aware of the fact that not all centers provide dedicated, qualified and trained multi-disciplinary panel of doctors ad surgeons like Paediatric Neurologist, Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon, Developmental Paediatrician, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and Orthotist. Without a competent team, a center cannot provide efficient and effective medical treatment for CP.

With the passage of time and intervention of upgraded medical treatment techniques, CP affected children are getting good treatment in India also. There are numerous special schools and vocational training centers who are engaged in providing additional support to aid medical treatment as well. All you need is to choose a good medical center for CP for your child with special needs.
