Cracked Tooth Crisis

It’s the craziest thing ever. I was on a much needed vacation in Rochester, NY when I found myself in desperate need of emergency dental services. I was on a chartered fishing boat and got too close to my buddy who was about to cast out his line. I walked behind him and his fishing hand caught me just right in the jaw. I couldn’t believe it. It only took a single second for my tooth to crack and send a sharp pain through my jaw and into my head.

I knew the second I stepped behind him I shouldn’t have done it. I immediately got on my smart phone and looked for emergency dental services in Rochester, NY.

Unfortunately, I had to wait until the charter was over before I could head to shore and then to emergency dental services. I used ice from the cooler on the outside of my jaw but it really didn’t help the pain. Finally ashore, I went to the first dentist I could find that took patients on an emergency basis. This dentist was great. I called them before I got there and they said they would fit me in right away. I walked in the door and because the atmosphere was so nice I thought I was in the wrong place.

This dental office looked more like a day spa than a doctor’s office. They weren’t kidding about seeing me right away because as soon as I got there they took me back. I was immediately comforted by the nice, professional, and polite staff. They were extremely understanding of my pain. The dental assistants took x-rays and soon the dentist came in. She gave me a shot in the gum for pain and got to work on my mouth. In no time at all I felt better. The dentist said that I could have pain for a few days but it would pass and my tooth should be fine. Also, I need to follow-up with my own dentist when I get home.

It was like no other dentist I had been to before. The atmosphere was relaxing and the dentist went above and beyond to make me comfortable and satisfied with my care. Normally I am stressed at the dentist but I found myself refreshingly calm after this procedure. I can honestly say that this was the best dental care I’ve ever experienced.
