The recently concluded fashion gala, the Amazon India Fashion week 2016, held at NSIC Grounds in New Delhi was a total stunner with the exquisite designs taking over the ramps. The show had 115 designers participating from all over the country. Like every year, this event brings out the best in Indian fashion. It gives a platform to the budding designers who can showcase their collections to a fashion savvy audience. This 5-days long event spells the fashion and takes it notches higher. This year also, Indian designer dresses impressed the fashionistas with their contemporary feel and ethnic roots. The show has some very talented young couturiers making a debut. These included the names like:
Anavila Mishra:
This designer making a debut at AIFW is the master of minimalism. In her collection of Indian designer sarees, she aptly used lots of pastel hues and offbeat styles of Indian ethnic wears. Indian designer sarees from Anavila had boxy tops with plain sarees, cropped trousers and tunics, all in the subtle tones of colours like grey, beige, ecru, gold, cream, charcoal, etc. In short, these Indian designer dresses were summer perfect in every sense!
Shalini James:
This year’s debutant seem to be very obsessed for bringing ethnic wear of India into the mainstream of Indian designer dresses. Shalini James’s collection did the same. She used vibrant block prints in her Indian designer suits and Indian designer sarees. Summery cottons were used in her entire collection that can be rightly touted as a wearable line of modernistic silhouettes.
Dhruv Kapoor:
This designer looked very promising with his designs showcased on Day 4 of this mega event. The entire collection encompassed intriguing styles of hooded dresses, capes, gowns, and Indian designer suits. He used neutral tones in these dresses making them truly picture perfect for the event.
Ragini Ahuja:
The collection from Ragini Ahuja was called as Ikai and it showcased the most impressive amalgamation of casual with stylish. She used geometric floral patterns in appliqué over the base fabrics like suede and denims. There were bomber jackets, trench coats, oversized lounge shirts, et al included in this collection.
Love Birds:
This modernistic collection from debutant designer duo of Amrita Khanna and Gursi Singh was all about simplicity and sophistication in silhouettes. Colour blocking using the pastel hues was the highlight of this collection from Love Birds.
The most promising feature of these designer dresses was that these Indian designer suits, sarees, gowns, or Indian designer lehengas from budding designers were absolutely stylish and wearable.
