"Scandal" costume designer Lyn Paolo has a new hit on her hands with "Burnt." The film stars Bradley Cooper (who plays a recovering drug addict returning to his career as a chef) and Sienna Miller. Here, Paolo shares some fashion scoops from the set.

How would you describe the fashion and footwear in "Burnt"?

"This film was a wonderful learning experience for me. I had the most fun visiting the kitchen of [English chef] Marcus Wareing. I soaked up the kitchen world and [came to understand] the hierarchy — and the amazing ballet — that is a well-run kitchen."

What were a few of your go-to brands?

"We did a lot of research and then turned to traditional [professional kitchen] brands, such as Bragard. [Wareing’s team] was amazingly informative and helpful to us as a costume department. The great thing about this film in terms of the footwear is that there was such a variety of looks, from clogs and work shoes to London fashion streetwear and then high-end brands for several of the characters." What about the main characters, played by Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller. What shoe brands can we expect to see them wearing?

"Sienna ranged from Dr. Martens boots to Burberry sandals. Bradley wore his Carpe Diem boots and Burberry dress shoes, while Uma Thurman wore Prada, and Alicia Vikander wore Louis Vuitton boots. Our front-of-house staff wore a lot of Paul Smith footwear."

Any behind-the-scenes fashion moments to share? Or anecdotes from working with such big stars?

"I love that Emma Thompson introduced me to a small boutique in London called Egg. Not only are the clothes there amazing, but so are the shoes. I am now addicted to that store."
