If you've ever created a simulation scenario for nursing education from scratch, you know that it can take hours or even days to complete! What nurse educator has the time to create one—let alone the multitude of scenarios needed to maintain a robust nursing simulation training curriculum?

EMS' SIMULATIONiQ SimScenariosis a library of over 100 clinical simulation scenarios available for use in nursing simulation training events. Your time is valuable. Save time and energy with SimScenarios!

SimScenarios are sourced from two groups of subject matter experts: the North Central Texas Healthcare Consortium (NCTHCC) and the California Simulation Alliance (CSA). Shop online for individual scenarios or scenario bundles by adding them to your shopping cart and paying with a credit card via our secure checkout server. Don't have a credit card? No problem: simply email us for an invoice.

The NCTHCC scenarios are available in three bundles for Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced nursing learners. Beginning scenarios are set in the emergency department, medical unit, surgical unit, and pediatric unit, and include topics such as bariatric surgery, bowel obstruction, chest pain, patient safety, and vital sign assessment. Intermediate scenarios are set in the emergency department, medical unit, surgical unit, pediatric unit, obstetric unit, and post-anesthesia care unit, and include topics such as alcohol withdrawl, chest pain, heparin protocol, malignant hyperthermia, and postpartum hemorrhage. And advanced scenarios are set in the emergency department, medical unit, surgical unit, pediatric unit, intensive care unit, and post-anesthesia care unit, and include topics such as pediatric asthma, blood transfusion reaction/central line management, chest pain, compartment syndrome, diabetes management, adult and pediatric mock codes, and pulmonary edema.

For an additional cost, educators can purchase human patient simulator (mannequin)pre-programmed integration files to go along with the NCTHCC scenarios. These can be quickly and easily uploaded into the simulator, leaving the educator with more time to spend on other nursing simulation training related tasks. Note that the pre-programmed files cannot be purchased independently from the Beginning, Intermediate, or Advanced scenario bundles.

QSEN and TeamSTEPPS competencies have been integrated in all CSA scenarios where appropriate, making them ideal for both nursing students and practicing nurses. The CSA scenarios are available in ten bundles based on topic: Ambulatory Care, Critical Care, Fundamentals in Nursing, Leadership, LGBTQ, Medical-Surgical, Pediatric, Perinatal, Perinatal-Novice, and School Nurse. Each scenario can also be purchased individually – for instance, an educator can purchase Acute Asthmatic Attack-IPE & Family Communication, one of the 23 available Medical-Surgical scenarios, for $50.00. Or the educator can purchase all nine cases in the Fundamentals in Nursing bundle: Chest Pain in Patient with Cellulitis- Case A; Foreign Body Obstruction in Patient with Fractured Ribs; Gastro-Intestinal Bleed- Aspiration Precautions; General Safety for Confused, Elderly Patient; General Safety for Patient with Pneumonia; Post-Op Assessment-Case A; Post-Op Assessment- Pain Management; Post-Op Assessment- Respiratory Depression; and Skin Assessment in Elderly Patient for a flat fee of $450.00.
