Hyderabad is particularly noted for its lakes, and Hussain Sagar Lake is amongst the most celebrated ones. It is a historic man-made lake built in 1562 during the reign of Ibrahim Quli Shah, when he built a dam on the Musi River. The lake is the separating body existing between the two twin cities. In the middle of the lake is a huge Buddha statue that was installed in 1992 and is one of the most recognized landmarks. It is a popular tourist spot and attracts large footfall of tourists as well as locals. Boat ride is a popular activity and it is available from Lumbini Park and Eat Street. What's more, you can also enjoy nice Laser Shows at the Lumbini Park in evening.
