Top 5 Tips on Choosing a Perfect Wedding Venue
Posted: Oct 30, 2015
Congratulations—you’re getting married! Prior to thinking about what you will wear and what wedding favors to buy, you have to decide ‘where’you want to get married. The venue is one of the most important factors that set the tone for this special day. It also affects many other wedding decisions you will need to make. How do you choose the perfect wedding venue? Here are the top 5 tips you need to keep in mind:
Tip #1: Mind your budget. Some couples overspend on their wedding only to regret it when the bills start to pile up.Keep your wedding expenses within budget so you can start your marriage on the right financial footing. But just because you’re on a budget doesn’t mean that you can’t hold your wedding reception in a lavish ballroom in a beautiful country club. Everything is possible; in fact, you might save money (and save yourself from stress) by booking a posh venue that already has everything—from food to décor.
Tip #2: Choose a venue that provides all the amenities and services you need. Some of the best wedding venues and event spaces already providetables, chairs, and basic décor that you can simply spruce up depending on your theme. When you rent a country club ballroom, for instance, their in-house executive chef can already provide a menu selection for a pre-set, per-person rate. Choosing a venue that ‘has it all’ will help drive down not only your rental fees but also delivery fees and set-up charges, not to mention your own stresslevel.
Tip #3: Many venuesoffer wedding package discounts during the slow season (usually the colder winter months). You might also be quoted lower rates if you are getting married on a weekday. Expect Friday and Saturday nights to be the most expensive.
Tip #4:Decide how many guests you want to invite (and stick to that number). You need to know how big your wedding will be to endure that the venue can comfortably seat your guests. There should be enough space left for a dance floor and a band or DJ.
Tip #5: Always have a backup plan especially if you are planning an outdoor wedding. A garden wedding sure is beautiful, but it is also risky. Everything depends on the weather. It makes sense to find a venue that can provide you a viable backup plan—that is, a nice indoor space where you and your guests can go should it suddenly rain on your big day. A backup plan can also come in handy if it suddenly gets too cold (or hot) outside.
