Ceiling drywalls are fast becoming the norms of modern apartments and houses because of the many decorative benefits they provide. One can easily install beautiful, contemporary light fixtures in them as well as use them as base for crafting designer ceiling art. Here are 8 quick and easy steps to help you get started.

(Note- Take assistance from friends and family members for this project as it can be slightly more difficult for a single person to accomplish.) Step 1. Check the ceiling for possible obstructions like electrical wires or pipes and install furring pipes to the frames around the hurdles to get a flat surface.

Step 2. Now make the necessary markings on the wall studs for ceiling joists as reference the positions of the light fixtures, fans and electricity boxes. If you have limited hands on board, make a T-brace to give you the required support for hanging drywall sheets. Step 3. Start hanging the drywall sheets from a corner, using the markings made earlier as reference. Apply the adhesive on the sheet only when you are confident about its position since the glue dries off fast. Step 4. Making sure that the tapered edges of the sheet are facing the floor, continue along the first wall.

Step 5. Once a row is complete, use nails or screws to fasten the sheet permanently to the ceiling. Make sure the fasteners (nails or screws) are at least 3-4 inches away from the edges of the sheet. There should be a minimum 7 inch distance between each successive nail (or screw).

Step 6. Using the brick laying method, start your second row with a half sheet. This would bring more stability to the complete structure of the drywall.

Step 7. Mark and cut out the areas in the board where there you wish to install lights or those areas that cover the vents.

Step 8. Continue like this and cover the whole walls in uniformed rows to get a strong framework.

Although this is one of the easiest procedures followed by professionals of drywall ceiling installation in Perth; one can also consider actually hiring a commercial contractor to do the job. There are various licensed painters in Connolly like Smith Decorating Services that also provide beautiful designs in ceiling cornice installations by trained professionals. You can easily search for such painting contractors working in your area online or through the local directories. You can also ask friends and family members for quality references and recommendations.
