Around the areas of Washington Heights, Harlem and the northern part of the boroughs of Manhattan and Bronx in New York state, the situation is quite tensed up because of the upcoming primary voting scheduled for 2016. This is going to be a tough scenario for many candidates, in the fray for the upcoming elections for the congressional seats. Especially in New York State, to become the Washington Heights Congressman, it will need lots of planning, strategies, fundraising and variety of features to ensure a victory. A path once trodden by the current congressman Charles Rangel, it will be a tough challenge for Keith Wright assemblyman and Robert Rodriguez assemblyman, both of whom are presently having reached the political circuit of the state assembly.

  • Post their stints in local senate, assemblymen trying for the congressional seats

It seems to be a natural progression for the politicians in the fray for the Washington Heights Congressman to have first gone for the state senate’s election and then trying their hand at the Congressional seat. This seems to be the trend for both Keith Wright and Robert Rodriguez assemblyman. Keith Wright has been a resident of Harlem since long, while having been active in the political set up in the New York City boroughs since the late 1980s, when he first went into the law office. In the years to follow, he went on to hold various important posts in the city council and worked for the civil rights and development of the boroughs in the region. Having been elected into the city council and the state assembly, Keith Wright Assemblyman has earned quite a good reputation for achieving results and working hard towards providing justice and peace in the largely African American dominated areas.

  • Young political leader with experience with ability to bring about support and political difference

While Keith Wright assemblyman has been in his sixties now and still going strong for the upcoming primary voting in 2016, Robert Rodriguez assemblyman has now earned a good reputation because of his youth, his representation of the Latino community and the seat in the local state senate. Even though Robert is somewhat younger to the present Washington Heights Congressman Charles Rangel, he has the potential to come up strong in the contest among the many Democrat representatives in the primary elections for the Congress in US. Robert Rodriguez assemblyman has been well known in the areas under the 13th congressional district, but East Harlem is the primary area from which he is possibly having good support, while currently he has been elected from Randall’s Island.

  • Multi-faceted contest on the cards during primaries

It would be a close contest between many candidates, one of them being the uninitiated non-political candidate Mike Gallagher, with favor from many of the commoners in New York City, while Keith Wright and Robert Rodriguez having knowledge of the political status of the region. As the 13th Congressional district goes into primaries in July 2016, it would be a good contest because of the diversity of the candidatures, which is further widened by the inclusion of many Latino and black political aspirants.
