We all know that glamorous women have been flaunting enhanced tresses for years, but it’s not just socialites, models and celebrities that pop wigs on and off. Plenty of everyday women turn to them for fashion and fun occasionally. Wigs are not just about poor quality hair. Apart from disguising sparse hair to make it look luxurious, the natural-looking extensions have other uses. Women love wigs because they can flaunt a new hairstyle and glam up their appearance in a jiffy. Wigs are just perfect for experimenting with various styles to zero on something you’ve always hankered after.

That being said, there are many brands including popular gabor wigs that offer a wide choice of classy and stylish weaves and sew-ins. These chic and sophisticated hair pieces come in various lengths and colours, offering women a trendy natural look. Here are a few tips to choose wigs that compliment and flatter different face shapes.

Oval Shape:

A classic oval face is well proportionate with a slightly narrow jaw line compared to the cheekbones. Any kind of hairstyle, length or texture compliments this shape. However, a long wig style without heavy bangs that accentuates the face shape is quite appealing.

Square Shape:

These faces are characterized by an angular jaw line which is approximately the same width as the hairline. A short, wavy wig style that adds fullness to the crown and narrowness to the sides looks pretty good. The wispy edges close to the face soften the wide, straight lines of the square shaped face.

Round Shape:

This kind of face shape has fullness around the cheekbones and a wide forehead. A long wig with cascading layers of soft curls or even a page style is the best choice. These styles will make the cheeks look narrow and elongate your face.

Heart Shape:

The face is wide at the temples, with high cheekbones and a delicate narrow chin. A wig with a side parting and wispy fringe swept onto the forehead is flattering. Also, an elfin crop or a chin length bob that tapers at the nape area helps create a balance between the dramatic cheekbones and pointed chin.

Diamond Shape:

The face is distinguished by wide cheekbones, a narrow chin and forehead. Almost every style works with this face shape; hence, a variety of wigs can be donned. If wanting to experiment with a bob, refrain from a style that adds volume to the top or sides, as it will camouflage the best features.

Pear Shape:

Pear-shaped faces typified by a small forehead a rather large jaw line are pretty rare. Blunt cuts that draw attention to the jaw line is a big no-no. A full-layered wig that adds volume to the crown of the head and minimizes the scale of the jaw line is the ideal style.

Oblong Shape:

The face has a long and slender bone structure. Wigs that create width and fullness with soft curls and waves to the sides are perfect. A half-bang across the forehead will help slash length to the face. Long styles with centre parting should be avoided.
