Peshawari Chappal is conventional footwear for Pakistani and Afghan, worn mainly by Pashtuns in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The shoe takes its name from the city of Peshawar, where it originates from, while "chappal" is the regional word for flip-flops. Peshawari chappal is worn by men casually or formally, usually with the Shalwar kameez dress. Because of its comfort, it is used in place of sandal or slipper in Pakistan.

It is semi-closed Sandal type footwear which consists of two wide strips where both strips are fixed with the sole by crossing each other. The back side has also a strip with a buckle to tie according to the foot size and level of calm. It is usually made with pure leather with its sole often made of trucktyre. It is available in many conservative designs and colors with several variations such as works of golden and silver threads, which give the shoe a more elegant look. Peshawari chappals have become more and more popular in other parts of Pakistan; even wearing them with jeans has become a fashion trend, particularly among urban youth.

It can be worn with the local shalwar kameez dress or with pants. Women do not wear such footwear though – it would be un-feminine but now feminine form of Peshawari Chappal has evolved and women are accepting this chappal gradually.

These chappals are used to come in black and brown traditionally but now colors like red, green, yellow etc are also available, mostly hand stitched though some limited editions are available in the soft leather hand knotted variety. Most limited version has gold thread, embossing and exotic colors.

Generally, pashmina shawls are worn by women. However, some men are wearing the lighter / smaller pashmina's as mufflers knotted around the neck like a tie.
