MICAT2016 Details

Mudra School of Communications (MICA) is one of the prestigious institutes for strategic marketing and Communications. It announced the opening for admissions to its PGDM- C 16-18 courses on 17 August, 20 15. MICAT 2016 is conducted by MICA to screen students for its programs. The entrance test was earlier scheduled on 20 December, 2015 and has been rescheduled on 13 December, 2015. The dates were rescheduled because the exam date was clashing with that of the SNAP2015, which is conducted by Symbiosis International University.
Candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum mark of 50% are eligible to apply. Final year students may also apply. Also, the candidate must have appeared for at least one of the following three exams- CAT 2015, XAT2016 and GMAT. One can register online on the official site of MICAT 2016. The registrations began on 10 September 2015 and the last date to apply is 4 December, 2015. The application fee is 1965 INR. One can make the payment online or in offline mode. Candidates may also make the payment on various counters in different cities. The examination will be held in 14 cities across India.
Micat is a computer based examination and it tests students on Divergent thinking ability, written communication, general awareness, current affairs relevant to business, media, advertising and marketing and, Verbal and analytical reasoning. The test also includes a psychometric profiling that will test leadership qualities in the candidates. There are two test booklets, 1 and 2. Test booklet 1 has two sections. There are around 100- 120 multiple choice questions. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer. The second section contains 2-3 descriptive type questions based on essay and writing communication. Test booklet 2 will comprise of 3 sections. All the questions will be descriptive in nature and one has to attempt all the questions otherwise the booklet won’t be evaluated.
This year there has been some major changes in MICAT. This year onwards MICA won’t be accepting MAT, CMAT or ATMA. The candidates must have appeared for CAT, XAT or GMAT, only then they can appear for MICAT2016. The GD & PI sessions will be held in four cities across India. The four cities are Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. The final selection will be done on the basis of MICAT and GD & PI score. Further, the selection process will be held twice, once in January and the other in March.
The admit cards will be available from first/ second week of December, 2015. The candidates will have to download the admit cards from the online portal of mica and the results are expected to be out in the last week of December.
