Whether you are going for an internship or you are making plans for post-graduation, there is more to prepare for a job interviews apart from being ready for the professional questions, researching the company background and getting that firm handshake. The last piece in the puzzle is the perfect outfit for your interview. Your dressing says a lot about you this point is quite true and also makes the first impression so here are some tips on how to dress.

To Dress In A Suit Or Not

Dress to impress is a factual phrase, but if your interviewer has mentioned the dress code to be a suit, then you are allowed to have fun with your outfit- just to stand out from the crowd. At the same time notice the practices of that industry, what kind of attire the employees wear. It’s normally better to be conservative than crazy. You should play safe by wearing a neutral color blazer and Custom dress shirt and add a professional touch to your look.

Formal Wear Doesn’t Need To Be Shabby

Starting from the top you should opt for a cotton or silk blouse to give a sophisticated feel. For the bottom replace the black slacks with a colored pencil skirt or tapered pants.

Be Careful Of Dropping Necklines

Keep it more conservative, cover yourself with a cardigan and knee-length skirts, and ensure that the focus of the interviewer is on all what you say and not on what you wear. Avoid showing any skin.

Shoes Are The Easiest To Select

Since summers are gone and fall has started you can wear shoes that are closed toes, either wear 2-3 inches pump or boots to boost your confidence and height. Make sure you wear proper shoes and know that you will be wearing and walking in them. Women should mostly consider wearing low heels and shoes that are closed toe.

Add Some Accessories

Accessories are good for faintly adding jazz to your look, but be careful not to over-do. Especially, be careful with noisy jewelry like charms or angles that can draw too much attention. Keep it simply wear a watch, a ring, ear studs and simple pendant necklace.

Research The Company’s Dress Code And Culture

When you go for an interview, it’s best practice to research the background of the company’s dress code and culture. If you know, any person who works in that company ask them about the dress code of the company or give a call to the HR for some recommendation. Trust me it never hurts in asking.

Try Your Interview Outfit

Before going to the interview it’s a wise idea to try the interview outfit, so you can make sure that you are comfortable in walking in it and can carry it properly. Also, practice your interview questions and answers.
