There Is No Limit to the Jobs Dubai Promises; Keep Trying Your Luck
Posted: Feb 01, 2016
Coming to think of it, for an uber-endowed cosmopolitan city that is full of promise for the future, there is no limit to the jobs Dubai has to offer. People of different walks of life from all over the world have been jostling to try their luck in getting a chance to work in one of the United Arab Emirates’ richest and most advanced cities. Such a prospect can promise nothing short of a bright future. However, given the stiff competition that normally comes with the alluring prospects, getting decent employment in Dubai is never a walk in the park.
If you land in this UAE city with the aim of securing yourself a well-paying job, you have to be prepared to spend weeks on end hunting for the right job. Given that a single job opening normally attracts a litany of applications, employers will obviously go for the best of the best applicants. Therefore, for you to land the most decent Jobs Dubai can offer, smart networking should be your best asset. You need to connect with people in the industry that you are interested in, through social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.com.
Any jobseeker cannot do without some very resourceful websites that normally post the latest job openings. You will need to regularly check out sites like Gulfjobsites.com, Bayt.com and Naukrigulf.com for the latest updates on employment vacancies in your area of interest. Some people think that since everybody is going online to spot openings on these popular human resource sites, the applications will be too many, making chances of even being considered for an interview so slim. However, you will be surprised that, in some instances, a majority of the people might be thinking the same way and the few who apply end up landing jobs! The trick is to keep trying and make as many applications as possible.
The millions of jobs Dubai have also attracted a myriad of recruitment agencies. The more agencies we have the more the jobs on offer. Haven’t we been told over and over that "there is no smoke without a fire?" Such agencies can turn out to be very helpful whenever you find yourself on a job hunting mission. However, you will have to be very careful by dealing with only those that have built a good reputation in terms of delivery of what they claim to offer. One such agency is Manpower Middle East. For you not to be swindled, you must avoid agencies that require you to pay registration fee like a plague.
You may not land your dream job, but if you keep trying you might land a decent one. Once this happens, you will be needed to sign a contract, which is either limited or unlimited, with your new employer. A limited contract normally comes with an expiry date that is not more than four years and renewal is never automatic. Any party that breaks such a contract before its time of expiry might incur penalties.
Unlimited contracts can be renewed after a certain period of time. However, there must be a probation period of about three to six months. For an unlimited contract to be terminated by either party there must be a valid reason and a 30 days’ notice must be given. Such a contract can also be terminated without prior notice or compensation during the probation period.
You have to note that the validity of employment visas last for two years only. There is no doubt that jobs Dubai are on high demand, but that doesn’t mean that you will stop trying your luck. What are you waiting for?
