Personalised wedding websites are a rage in Indore

With the marriage season in full swing, wedding websites are the latest rage in the city. Packed with information, these websites are being used by the about-to-wed city couples.

Usually made functional a month or so before the wedding, these websites, are used for guest arrival and departure confirmations among other things. City retailer Sourabh Chopra, got a wedding website to help him with booking and other wedding details. "I have witnessed weddings where confusion and chaos reigns supreme. Right from the attendee confirmation to room bookings to flight and train timings and last minute cancelations, all lead to a lot of confusion. So, we got a wedding website with a section devoted to booking confirmation with exact arrival and departure details, making the entire thing very systematic and organised," he said.

Easier to extend Long-distance invitations

City businessman, Mayank Bajaj, did not have the time to personally invite all his near and dear ones. He says, "My relatives live in various parts of India and the world and it was impossible to invite them using the postal service, so I created the wedding website for the RSVPs. I simply messaged the url address to my guests and they were able to access all the information and confirm their arrivals and departure details. These websites make things easy for both hosts and guests."

The tale of love

These websites also have an 'Our Story' page which includes a collection of personal narratives, favourite memories, pre-wedding meetings and facts related to the couple. Soon to be bride, Silky Gogia, was surprised by her fiance Nitin Changlani who got a customized wedding website for their December wedding. "My fiance surprised me with our wedding website and in its 'Our Story' section he recounted our complete journey till date. It became a highlight for our friends and family and is something that will always be special for me," she said.

Perfect to upload pre-wedding pics

These websites are also the best place for couples to upload their pre wedding snapshots, both impromptu and photo-shoots. Sneha Bajaj, who tied the knot this May, says, "The wedding album is cherished lifelong but the pleasure of sharing pictures on your wedding website is incomparable. All your friends and family members can view them and shower their blessings. At times, they also become the talk of the town in your social circle if you have great shots."

Professional wedding photographer and planner, Dev Wadhwani, said, "Everyone wants their weddings to be special. Right from the dress, food, to the flower arrangements, everything needs to be perfect, and the wedding website is no exception. Couples have realized that a beautiful wedding website is a very personal and exciting way to celebrate the great news." Another city wedding planner, Rashmi Malwiya, says "Couples look for web designers and offer them ideas for their websites. They are very particular about everything, right from aesthetics, design motif, colour palette, font scheme etc, and aim for nothing but the best."
