When Maruti Ertiga was introduced a couple of years ago, it was warmly welcomed by the car lovers of the country. It was hailed as the perfect car for those who found the Innova a bit too big/expensive for their needs. The Ertiga soon became the top selling compact MUV, thanks to its positioning as an ideal family car that can accommodate seven people. Its success prompted other carmakers like Honda and Datsun to come up with rival products like Mobilio and Go+.

Here is a quick look at the price of the Datsun Go+ in India:

Price – The Datsun Go+ is undoubtedly the most affordable MUV in the Indian market right now. Datsun has priced the Go+ at a highly affordable price of INR 3.79 lakh to 4.76 lakh. The low pricing has definitely helped the car to do well in the market, despite the tough competition from the rivals.

Specifications – Datsun Go Plus measures 3995 mm in length 1635 mm in width and 1485 mm in height. The wheelbase of 2450 mm and a minimum ground clearance of 170 mm give this car a spacious feel and look. However, in reality, the car feels a bit cramped on the inside, especially at the third row, as Datsun has tried to match the price and features.

Engine Details – The Datsun Go+ runs on an 1198 cc DOHC 12 valve petrol engine, which generates 67 bhp power and 104 Nm torque. This engine is mated to a traditional five-speed manual transmission gearbox. Another major attractive feature of the Datsun Go+ is its mileage, which is said to be around 20.6 kmpl.

Other Features – The Datsun Go+ comes with basic features like power steering, manual AC and fabric seats. However, when it comes to safety features like ABS, EBD and airbags, this car is a huge disappointment. In its attempt to price the car low, Datsun has compromised on several safety and comfort features. Hence, power windows are available only on front, and features like remote central locking, brake assist, steering adjustment, rear ac vents, full folding rear seats, adjustable front and rear headrests, cup holders, fog lamps, seat belt warning, door ajar warning and the like are not available on Go+. Moreover, the boot capacity is just 48 liters, unless the third row is folded to take it up to 348 liters.

To conclude, although the Datsun car is attractively priced and it offers best mileages, when it comes to safety features, the car is a huge disappointment. If budget is a serious constraint for you, then go for Datsun Go+. Else, consider other cars as the cheap build and lack of safety features is a letdown for Go+.
