All about AILET 2016

All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2016 is conducted by National Law University (NLU) Delhi to screen students for their five year integrated B.A LLB course. This year the test is scheduled to be held on 1 May, 2016. The registrations will start in December, 2015.
Students who have passed their 10+ 2 with more than 50% aggregate marks and are not more than 21 years of age can apply. Also, the students appearing for their 10+2 in 2016 can also apply. Candidates having compartment in any of the subject is not eligible to apply. Candidates can apply online through the official site of AILET.
Ailet 2016 is a pen- paper based test. The total time duration of the test is 90 minutes i.e. 1 hour 30 minutes and total number of questions is 150. 1 mark will be awarded for every correct answer and no marks will be awarded for un-attempted questions. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers. The test is of 150 marks.
The exam tests a candidate’s knowledge of English, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Legal Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and Elementary Mathematics and Numerical Ability. There are 35 questions each in all the sections except the elementary mathematics and numerical ability section, which have only 10 questions. The Legal aptitude section is one of the most important sections as there are questions based on legal facts, propositions and research. One must be aware of basic legal terminologies and codes. Also, one must be aware of the political and business affairs and famous legal cases around the globe as these topics mainly cover the general knowledge section. The mathematics section covers topics of elementary mathematics. Candidates can begin with any section first and also there is no sectional time obligation.
The test was held in 19 cities last year and the same test city centers are expected this year as well. The registrations are expected to begin on 1 January 2016 while the notification regarding the registration is not yet officially out. The admit cards will be released in the first week of April, 2016 and the results are expected to be out in the third week of May, 2016. The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the ranks of AILET 2016. The shortlisted candidates will then be called in for counseling.
