At this moment Microsoft have two flagship Lumia handsets that support the latest Windows 10, but now the software maker has decided to bring the amazing Windows 10 to its budget friendly smartphones. After Microsoft announced the Lumia 550 back in October, today the company is making the smartphone available for masses. Lumia 550 is the cheapest smartphone available in the market priced only $139 that runs on the latest Windows 10. Lumia 550 is targeted at price sensitive customers who want the best of both latest specs and budgeted worlds.

Talking of Lumia 550’s specifications, since it is not a high end devices, the specs are kept are quite average. The phone sports a 4.7 inch HD display coupled with a resolution of 1280x720 p and a calculated density of 315 ppi. The phone is powered by 1.1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 quad core processor. The phone comes with an internal memory of 8 GB and can be expanded up to a whopping 200 GB with the help of a microSD card.

The phone houses a rear snapper of 5 MP along with single LED Flash and an aperture of f/2.4 while the front camera of 2 MP is good enough for the selfie addict souls. With dimensions of 136.1x67.8x9.9 mm, the Lumia 550 weighs 141.9 grams. The Lumia 550 also houses the Glance Screen which gives access to all the important stuff like date, time, calendar entries and notifications without the need to unlock the budget friendly smartphone.

From the moment an user switches to Lumia 550, he or she will be swept away by the Windows 10 experience along with the trademark Microsoft services and applications and Microsoft Office. The Word documents created on the Surface Pro 4 can be accessed anytime and anywhere on the Lumia 550 with the help of built-in Office applications, if it is saved on OneDrive. One can also sync reminders from Cortana and Lumia 550 with ease.

The Lumia 550 supports 4G LTE connectivity to enable its users the access to online documents. In addition to the 4G LTE connectivity, the Lumia 550 also packs in a sparkling new browser called the Microsoft Edge which is just perfect for on-the-go reading and lot more similar things. However, because of the smartphone’s budget device feature, the Lumia 550 does not support the newest features of Windows 10 Mobile such as Continuum and Hello.

The Lumia 550 is already available for public in selected markets from December 7th, who long for a combination of uncompromised quality and value for affordability. But the software maker has not announced the list of selected European countries that will sell the Lumia 550 as of now. The smartphone will be available in other global markets in the next few months. The users can get hold of the Lumia 550 in two hue options of Glossy White and Matte Black.
